Jennifer McCray Rincón

Founding Artistic Director, Visionbox Studio Theatre / Co-Artistic Director

Jennifer McCray Rincón received her BA in Theatre Studies from Yale University and an MFA in Directing from the Yale School of Drama. She was recipient of an NEA Directing Fellowship at Playwright’s Horizons in NYC and a Fulbright Teaching Fellowship in Bogota, Colombia. After many years in New York, Ms. Rincón came to Denver as the Head of Acting at the National Theatre Conservatory, where she remained from 1991 through 2008. At the DCPA Ms. Rincón taught acting in the 3-year MFA Acting program and directed over 100 productions including Equus, Othello, The Laramie Project, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, The 365 Project, Monte Carlo, and Expedition 6 by Bill Pullman. Locally, Ms. Rincón has directed for El Centro Su Teatro, Shadow Theatre, The Historic Old Elitches Theatre, and was Founding Artistic Director of the Lizard Head Theatre Company in Telluride.

Since founding Visionbox Studio Theatre in 2010 Jennifer McCray Rincón has taught acting to Denver student and professional actors in five week sequences culminating in  performances. She has also developed and directed a number of workshops and productions for Visionbox including: The Wild Hunt by Bill Pullman, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea by John Patrick Shanley, Lydie Breeze by John Guare, After the Fall by Arthur Miller, 2xTENN by Tennessee Williams, A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas with William Youmans, The Othello Project, an adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello, My Two Sisters, an adaptation of Chekhov's Three Sisters, and Orpheus Descending by Tennessee Williams.

Bill Pullman

Co-founder, Resident Artist

Bill Pullman has film credits that span ninety features with directors including David Lynch, Wim Wenders, Mel Brooks, Roland Emerich, and Nora Efron. His Broadway credits include Edward Albee's Tony Award-winning play The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?


He has been nominated for four Drama Desk awards for Best Actor. He directed and produced the TNT movie The Virginian (Best Picture/Wrangler Award, 2000). For his role in the current cable series The Sinner he has been nominated for a Critics Circle Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. In his community work, he co-founded  Hollywood Orchard, a non-profit initiative that, since 2011, has organized neighbors to harvest and share fruit from urban environments. Bill serves on the boards of Alfred University and If Not Us Then Who

Drake J. Susuras

 Assistant to the Artistic Director

Drake J. Susuras is a multidisciplinary theatre artist born and raised in CO. As a recent graduate from the University of Evansville with a BFA in Acting, Drake has cultivated skills not only in theatrical performance, but also in the fields of playwriting, directing, and dramaturgy. Some of his more current acting credits include Benedick and Claudio in Ado written by Lavina Jadwhani for The New Harmony Project, Harry Fatt in Waiting For Lefty, and Tom Collins in Rent at the Shanklin Theater. Drake’s written work has been read, workshopped, and staged throughout Southern Indiana and Colorado. He recently received the Virginia Lowell Grabill Award for Fiction for his play entitled Locker Room Talk or: How to Survive in a “Straight” Man’s World which was recently workshopped and staged at Champa Arts Studio with Visionbox Studio. Since returning to Denver, Drake has worked with Curious Theatre, 24 Hour Plays, Two Cent Lion, Vintage Theatre, Ovation West Performing Arts, and Roshni Light. Currently, he is in rehearsals for Sisters of Swing, a Co-production at Vintage Theatre & Ovation West Performing Arts and will be Props Designing for Two Cent Lion’s upcoming production of Medusa.

Alexander Watson

Associate Artistic Director

Alexander Watson is an actor, singer, and director who moved to Denver just a year ago after 5 years in Chicago, and a few on tour before that. He currently serves as the Associate Artistic Director of Visionbox Studio, as well as the Director of Education. Alexander holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Western Illinois University, and originally hails from Iowa. He was last seen on stage for the sold-out run of Murder on the Orient Express at Candlelight Dinner Playhouse in Johnstown, Colorado, and has assistant directed various productions for Visionbox throughout Season 11. He also directed Visionbox's inaugural production on Season 12, Sondeim at the Soiled Dove. Favorite acting roles of Alexander’s include Freddy (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Czolgosz (Assassins), The Preacher (Violet), and Charley (Merrily We Roll Along). Alexander would like to thank Visionbox for the opportunities, and his partner Jake (and their dog, Archie) for his support. 

Savannah Vedovatti

 Director of Education

Savannah Vedovatti is an actor with a strong background in theater, comedy, and improvisation. Her enthusiasm for acting started at the age of eight at a community theatre in Montana, where she was born and raised. Her passion led her to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the Sergeant Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University. Savannah specializes in simulation acting- a technique used to educate and build an increased empathetic response for medical professionals, military candidates, and first responders in training. She is a member of four separate companies developing these practices both locally and nationwide. Inspiring the next generation of artists is one of Savannah's lifelong missions. She is honored to be able to pursue that calling as a member of the Visionbox team! Outside of acting, Savannah loves meeting all the dogs she can, running, and making jewelry. 

Seth Palmer Harris

Director of Development

Seth Palmer Harris is a Colorado-based actor, communication coach, consultant, and producer. He's appeared in productions from Breckenridge to Aurora and from Colorado Springs to Ft. Collins, receiving a Henry nomination in 2022 for his role in It's a Wonderful Life at the Breckenridge Backstage Theatre. Seth currently runs his own company, Mad Rush Productions, producing murder mysteries and evenings with dead writers including Mark Twain and Edgar Allan Poe. His days are primarily focused on communication training through role-playing with folks in a variety of fields from law enforcement to social work. He additionally serves as an organizational communication and development consultant with several organizations, companies, and agencies in Colorado. Seth moved from his home state of Minnesota to Colorado in 2006 and misses the lakes very much, but not the winter. He's an alumnus of the Korbel School of International Relations at the University of Denver and currently resides in a small house in Colorado Springs with his piano and plants.

Aaron Kuper

Director and Filmmaker

Aaron Kuper is a director and screenwriter with a BA from Northwestern University and MFA in Creative Writing from the University of New Orleans. He has worked on Film & Television sets in Louisiana and Los Angeles including the Golden Globe-nominated film 99 Homes starring Michael Shannon, Andrew Garfield, and Laura Dern. He completed six months of Scene Study training with Berg Acting Studio in LA to improve his creative approach to writing and directing. In 2020 Aaron moved to Colorado to work for The Broadmoor Hotel as manager of their fly fishing camp and horseback riding ranch. Excited to be a part of Visionbox, Aaron served as Assistant Director on Contemporary Scene Study performances, All the World Shakespeare outdoor festival, and American Addict including filming a documentary about the project. Collecting vinyl records, browsing bookstores, and wildlife photography are some of his favorite hobbies. 

Trevor Lyons

Literary Manager

Trevor Lyons is an American actor and writer from, and currently residing in, Boulder, Colorado. Prior to the pandemic Trevor was based in NYC. Acting credits include The Wild Hunt, written and directed by Bill Pullman, Commedia D'Amore, written and directed by Daniel Gerroll, The Great Gatsby at Cardinal Stage, the film Body Keepers, directed by Shelly Cole, and the film Reality Therapy, written and directed by Robert Fritz.
Trevor is a graduate of the Atlantic Acting School, founded by David Mamet and William H. Macy, and is now an MFA Candidate in screenwriting at UC-Riverside. Trevor holds a B.A. in Psychology from Ottawa University, where he graduated cum laude and where he was also a scholarship athlete on the basketball team; Trevor quit the basketball team his senior year to devote more time to the theater department. Prior to the pandemic Trevor was working in NYC as a certified personal trainer, specializing in corrective exercise and functional mobility. Trevor also trains, and has competed sparingly, in Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts.

Javier Gutierrez

Resident Musician & Composer

El Javi, out of Mexico City, joins the spirit of flamenco with the heart of rock producing the unparalleled experience of Rock Flamenco.  Through his distinct sound, he paints an auditory portrait composed of strength and intimacy, reflecting his experiential existence as both human and artist. Collaborations color his compositions as he endlessly evolves his music, warranting his title. The King of Rock Flamenco.
Highlights of his career include Festival of the Arts in Coahuila Mexico, The Jazz and Blues festival in Santa Clarita, CA , the Denver International Festival, The International Music Festival in San Jose del Cabo, Mex, the Salmon Arm Festival in British Columbia, Canada. and opened for today’s biggest voice of flamenco, Diego el Cigala, during his Noche Tacumana world tour in San Miguel de Allende, Mex.
Currently, EL Javi tours North America with his powerful live performances as he promotes the 2nd part of the Gypsy Journey trilogy “El Refugio.”

Phillip Baldwin

Head of Scenography & Interactive Media 

Phillip Baldwin, MFA Yale, Associate Professor, Stony Brook University. Over 30 years of integrating the arts and design, with technology.

Is a scenographer, designer, author, educator, UX/UI consulting, business person, art and technology installation artist, associate professor of design and digital media, and immersive environment designer. He devotes equal effort to Academic/Professing fields as well as in the for-profit IT research fields. Has current research and authorship in the relationship of space to telematics and telepresence, Virtual reality and 'spaces of shared experience'. He designed for Film, the stage, Modern Dance, Events, and public projection mapping commissions. Recipient of four international awards in Design including the Rome Prize, Japan foundation prize, Korea foundation award, and Korean industrial development in STEAM and the creative tech curriculum Co-Pi of 700k from the Korean Minister of Culture.

GARY LOGAN, M.F.A., Associate Professor, Speech and Dialects (Tenured)
Gary Logan is the Associate Professor of Speech and Dialects at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama, and was formerly the director of the Shakespeare Theatre Company's MFA program, the Academy for Classical Acting at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he also taught Ear-Training and Acting: Shakespeare. He is the author of the highly acclaimed The Eloquent Shakespeare: A Pronouncing Dictionary for the Complete Dramatic Works, with Notes to Untie the Modern Tongue (University of Chicago Press), and is the recipient of a Tyrone Guthrie Award. He has worked as a voice, text, and dialect coach on over 140 professional productions, with companies such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Shakespeare Theatre, Folger Theatre, Studio Theatre, Signature Theatre, Everyman Theatre, Ford's Theatre, Woolly Mammoth, the Denver Center, the Kennedy Center, Chautauqua Theatre, and many more. Clients to whom he has taught dialects include Tyne Daly, Scott Bakula, Christine Lahti, and Brian Bedford. Frequently invited to be a Visiting Guest Artist to share his expertise in Phonetics, Shakespeare's Language, and Dialects, he has taught at the University of Hawai'i, Manoa, the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow, Scotland, the Stratford Festival of Canada, Dartmouth College, and the Chautauqua Theatre Company Conservatory, just to name a few. He has held permanent and adjunct positions at the Academy for Classical Acting, The George Washington University, the University of Maryland, the National Theatre Conservatory (where he was mentored by Tony Church, founding member of the RSC), the University of Denver, and the University of Colorado, Boulder. He has directed over 40 plays, for both professional theatres and for MFA programs, and has acted in scores of plays at the American Conservatory Theater, San Francisco, the Missouri Repertory Theatre, Kansas City, the Denver Center Theatre, Denver, and many others. He was on the Board of Advisors for the National Center for Voice and Speech, and has been a senior faculty member of Canada's annual National Voice Intensive for more than twenty years. Working closely with directors such as Michael Kahn, Sir Peter Hall, John Barton, Maria Aitken, Stephen Wadsworth, Vivienne Benesch, David Muse, Robert Richmond, Nagle Jackson, Israel Hicks, Ethan McSweeny, and Laird Williamson, he has become a trusted colleague and practitioner of dialects, phonetics, rhetoric, voice, and acting. He holds an MFA from ACT, where his teachers included Bill Ball, Edith Skinner, Yat Malmgren, Allen Fletcher, and Catherine Fitzmaurice. He has been in or produced over 800 voice-overs and continues to enjoy studio work. Recently, his poetry was published in Poets Are Present, an anthology.

Dwayne Carrington

Head of Ensemble

Dwayne Carrington is a proud Founding Member of Visionbox and is honored to serve as Lead Actor to the Ensemble. He performed the title role in the Visionbox Ensemble presentation of The Othello Project. Dwayne also serves as the Community Outreach Coordinator on staff and actively participates in classes and workshops. Dwayne is a graduate of Weber State University (Ogden, Utah) with a BA in Theater and English (double major). He later studied at Denver University where he earned an MA in Public Communications. Dwayne is currently active in the Denver Theater community. He performed in Gospel At Colonus presented by The Source Theater and produced by Su Teatro Theater Company. He was a Founding Ensemble Member of Shadow Theatre Company. Other companies include: Denver Center Theater, Arvada Center Theater, Aurora Fox Theater and Boulders Dinner Theater.

Mary Schertz

Website Queen and Designer Extraordinaire

Mary Schertz is a new transplant to Colorado who loves design and the arts. She grew up in the Philadelphia area and spent three years working abroad in Japan. in 2018 She graduated from Temple University with a BFA in Graphic and Interactive Design and has worked both in corporate and as a Freelance designer. As a member of the Visionbox Team, Mary assists with productions on the website and asset production. Making sure Visionbox's message gets out and can reach as many people as possible. When not at work you can find her painting or exploring.
