Visionbox Studio presents a selection of scenes from plays written in the last decade by American playwrights Mike Bartlett, Lucas Hnath, Tracy Letts, Gary Owen and John Patrick Shanley. These writers’ works are not often (or ever) performed in Colorado, but they epitomize contemporary American playwriting, often addressing current social issues and also exploring a combination of styles, including realism as well as different approaches to language structure and non-realistic storytelling.
This scene-study performance will also feature real-time directing of a scene by Visionbox’s Jennifer McCray Rincon. Ms. Rincon was the Head of Acting at the DCPA’s National Theatre Conservatory from 1991-2008, before founding Visionbox. She received her B.A. in Theatre Studies from Yale College and her M.F.A. in Directing from the Yale School of Drama.
Send us an email at info@visionbox.org to RSVP today!

Since our founding, we have offered ongoing scene study classes in five to six week sequences culminating in a performance for family, friends, and general audiences. Audiences watch not only a particular play or style of work , but also learn about acting technique and the creative process.
